Finned Tubes

Dolphin engineers high-performance finned tubes designed to maximize heat transfer efficiency across a wide range of industrial applications. From heat exchangers and boilers to air coolers and process systems, our finned tubes are built with precision manufacturing and long-term reliability in mind.

By significantly increasing available surface area for heat exchange, our finned tubes deliver measurable improvements in energy efficiency and reduced operational costs. We offer G-Fin, L-Fin, KL-Fin, and Extruded-Fin configurations, each engineered for specific thermal, mechanical, and environmental conditions.

Fin Tube Configurations

G-Fin
Up to 450°C

G-Fin Tubes

Purpose-built for high-temperature service, G-Fin Tubes deliver superior thermal performance and mechanical strength. A helical groove is precision-machined into the tube surface and the fin is mechanically bonded via a peening process — creating a robust, high-integrity fin-to-tube connection.

Max. Design Temp.
Up to 450°C
Fin Bonding
Helical groove + peening
Fin Density
157–512 fins/m (4–13 fpi)
Fin Height
6.35 mm – 20.5 mm
Tube Length
Up to 12.2 m
Tube Diameter (OD)
14.29 mm – 50.8 mm
Material
Any metallic tube material
L-Fin
Up to 150°C

L-Fin Tubes

Optimized for moderate temperature applications, L-Fin Tubes are formed by shaping a fin strip into an "L" profile and tension-winding it onto the base tube. The fin foot fully covers the surface between adjacent fins, providing excellent protection against corrosion and external wear.

Max. Design Temp.
Up to 150°C
Fin Bonding
Tension-wound "L"-shaped fins
Corrosion Resistance
Full base tube coverage
Fin Density
Same range as G-Fin
Fin Height
6.35 mm – 20.5 mm
Cost Advantage
Thinner gauge on premium materials
KL-Fin
Up to 250°C

KL-Fin Tubes

KL-Fin Tubes combine the protective benefits of L-type fins with improved mechanical bonding. The tube surface is knurled before winding, and the fin is embedded into the knurled pattern — significantly increasing contact and resistance to vibration and thermal cycling.

Max. Design Temp.
Up to 250°C
Fin Bonding
Embedded in knurled surface
Fin Density
157–472 fins/m (4–12 fpi)

Up to 12.2 m
Tube Diameter (OD)
14.29 mm – 50.8 mm
Material
Any metallic tube material
Extruded
Up to 300°C

Extruded-Fin Tubes

Engineered for the most demanding environments — high corrosion, high temperature, and aggressive process conditions. A thick aluminum sleeve is mechanically extruded over the base tube, forming integral fins with exceptional bond strength and full protection of the underlying metal. Ideal for offshore, petrochemical, and corrosive gas applications.

Up to 300°C
Fin Bonding
Aluminium sleeve extrusion
Fin Density
236–709 fins/m (6–18 fpi)
